We ask that all dancers be at least three years of age and potty trained to participate in dance classes.
Dancers should wear comfortable, fitted activewear that allows them to move freely and safely in class.
Appropriate footwear is required for each class:
Hair must be pulled back and secured away from the dancer’s face in a bun or ponytail.
Ballet classes require:
Recreational classes are designed for dancers who want to build their skills, stay active, and enjoy dance in a fun and supportive environment.
Company classes are intended for dancers who are interested in a more intensive training experience and may choose to participate in competitions. These classes generally require a greater time commitment and additional weekly training.
Dancers may enroll in company technique classes without joining a competitive group. However, dancers who take company technique classes only and are not part of a competitive group will not participate in the end-of-year recital.
Only recreational dancers and dancers placed in company groups will perform in the May recital.
Our goal is to avoid missing scheduled classes whenever possible. However, we understand that holidays, school closures, and severe weather may occasionally affect the studio schedule.
Epic Dance Studio generally follows the Edmond Public Schools calendar. Families should also follow our Facebook page and enable push notifications in the studio app to receive important updates, reminders, and schedule changes.
Company families will also receive notifications through the parent GroupMe.
During inclement weather, we will always prioritize the safety of our dancers, families, and staff. We will make every effort to provide as much notice as possible in the event of an early closure, delayed opening, or class cancellation.
While we ask each dancer to commit to the full dance season, we understand that unexpected circumstances may arise.
Recreational dancers must provide 30 days’ written notice before dropping a class. No refunds will be issued for costumes that have already been ordered.
Company dancers who drop after choreography classes begin in August will be assessed a $150 drop fee for each competition class dropped. Costume fees, competition fees, and other expenses already incurred may also be nonrefundable.
Proper notice must be provided to avoid additional charges.
